1.What methods, materials and processes did I use today? How effective were these?

In this class, I did many experiments such as erasing images or changing images through placement. I tried a lot of things like this and that because I wanted to challenge differently than other children when I deleted or arranged images. And I wondered how the magazine image would have a visual effect through erasing or placement. I brought all the images through the magazine. What came to my mind when I saw the selected magazine image came to mind about friendship. The thought of friendship reminded me of the following. Friendship is sometimes happy, but uncertain, confused, and difficult, so I thought that if I went wrong, the relationship would go wrong. So, I wanted to create a work of interpreting friends' relationships with magazines.

In the first work, the image of the magazine was an image of friends gathering in the field and looking straight ahead. I wanted to use this image to show that the relationship between my friends is not forever. So Erasing used a knife to use the technique.
Instead of using the sharp side of the knife, I used a method of slightly scraping the image with a flat side of the knife to express the image of a friend who will broken friendship and disappear soon. And By scraping, the scraped part in the image photo becomes white, so the two parts (Black and White) look contrasted, and the scraped part is scraped out irregularly, and I think that I succeeded in expressing an image that disappears.

In the second work, I used a picture of one friend facing forward and the other friends facing their backs. I think one of the ways to erase images is to blur them. So I used tracings paper to blur the image, and I used threads to express myself left alone after all my other friends left. The reason for using tracings paper is that using tracings helps to focus on the red thread part by blurring the surrounding image. So I think expressing using tracings paper is one of the good ways.

In the third work, I used images of friends' back looking at the river.
I divided this picture of my friends' relationships in three ways. The relationship is divided into children who say that friendship will be forever, children who are not half sure of it, and children who say that friendship will not last forever.
then, when I was agonizing over new methods how to erase it.
There was an opaque tape just in time, so I thought it would help erase the image. So I stick with the opaque tape on the image back of friends. To indicate that a friendship will last forever, I did not stick with the tape on two of the back image. and I partially stuck with the taped on the back image of the appearance to show children that they are half sure of it with their friendship. Also, I stuck with the tape it all over the back image to indicate that a friendship would not last forever. And to show friendship that might break at any time, it added effect by zigzagging with black tape. The opaque tape was able to carve out different sizes, which helped to convey visually and sensibly.

The fourth work uses a magazine, which is the image of a woman smiling. I wanted to express it with a sad image that is the opposite of a bright smile. While I was thinking about how to change my smiling face to a sad face, I thought I could use a white marker to erase my face and express it as if I were crying. So, I wanted to express that there are situations where there are situations where they laugh while they are with friends, but there are also situations where they are sad. The white marker pen is fine, but it comes out too thin and has the inconvenient point that it has to be applied several times to express.

In the fifth work, I tried to work with a model's face image and a model photo in which the image was transformed into a unique shape.
I cut out the part of the model posing with a knife, attached the remaining paper on top of the face image of the model, and arranged the image of the model posing in the center to construct it. I tried to express the wandering image because I didn't know what to do with a situation in which friends are around. The method of using a knife to cut the part I want to cut and using placement is visually effective, but I think it is a basic method that anyone can easily think of, so I think it is a little disappointing.

The sixth work used the image of a person looking up at the sky. While I was thinking about how to work with this image, I had an interesting idea of cutting the image vertically with a knife and then placing it in reverse order. So I expressed the situation as if a person who was confused about his friendship was in prison. It was a challenge for me to cut off the image and rearrange it backward. I was curious about the result because I didn't know how it would turn out. after doing it, I think it worked well.

In the seventh work, I used the images with the image of a woman dancing, an image of a boy riding a bicycle, and an image of a person looking up at the sky. After cutting off the image of a boy riding a bicycle, I drew the same silhouette on the image of a child looking up at the sky, and put the two on top of the image of a woman dancing. It may feel difficult sometimes when it comes to friendships, but I wanted to express a scene where we wanted to do well with each other. As mentioned above, it is unfortunate that it is a basic method.

In the eighth work, I work with the image of a woman with her eyes closed against the sky and an image of a heart-shaped model face. I have a good friend relationship in this work, but I wanted to express something complicated in my heart. So, from the image of a woman with her eyes closed, I cuts out the clothes and attached the images of models in the shape of hearts. Then, I used the melting technique with the crayon and a lighter. and the image was erased, it had a natural matching effect. The method of erasing the image by melting crayons seems to be a good thing that can be shown intensely, but it seems that there may be dangers in the melting process. If I do it wrong, it may cause burns or a fire, so use it carefully.

2. Is there potential for these works to be developed further? And if so in what way?

I think it can look more advanced as a work. First, I can scan the previous work and print it out. After putting the print image on the fabric and making it look like a printed image using a gesso, it takes the shape of clothes and makes clothes. For example, By applying the method used earlier, I design the silhouette of the clothes in reverse order. or I can scratch the cloth with a knife and design it.

3. What artists would I like to research further?

If I do more research, I would like to study about John Baldesarri more. I chose John Baldesarri because I wanted to bring a small part of the image and express an image that evokes imagination like John Baldesarri.
