BA Jewellery design in central saint martins

Name the three most significant learning experiences you have had on the Foundation course so far.

1workshop skills , it was my first time to use workshop and talk to the workshop tutors, I had used a large range of materials to do the experiments.

2let the ideas come up really quick, This is a more efficient way to explore more my ideas, sometimes I may feel stuck but I always explore more ideas than usual.

3make sketch models, Every time that I did the models before were slowly and completed, but the sketch models are really help to explore ideas at the begging of the work

Have you discovered any new approaches to generating and developing ideas?

Yes, I started to explore ideas in 3 minutes every time for every sketches, that really pushes me to come up my ideas which are hided in my head.

Any new skills or processes?

Workshop experiences are new to me , before I came to the FAD course I just used the really simple materials and I have never finished a outcome, but now I learnt to use the workshop and I tried to do a lot of experiments I so many different materials and finished the out comes in a completed way. Those made me more competitive.

Have you used materials that are new to you or used familiar materials in a new way?

I used the acrylic and steel that are new to me , what I used to use are the just paper and the plastic, the acrylic is similar with the acrylic but when I cut it off are so different to me , I used the really big cutting machines and I learnt how to use that.

What ideas or concerns are you currently exploring on the course?

I first know when I came here to learn Jewellery is the ideas development, I didn’t know that jewellery has so many possibilities , I was so impressive that my tutor told me that what the definition of wearing, she said when you grab a pen , you also wearing it. That’s the first time that I know that what is the definition about wearing , that made me thinking in a long time. And after that I was fed from my tutor in the artist research , and I started to know the possibility of jewellery, it is not just the shine diamond or silver, it is a possibility of every wearable works.

Which designers / Architects / artists / writers/ filmmakers/ etc are you currently excited about?

JOANNE.T and Wyn Evans

They had fantastic work on different areas, Joanne’s jewellery designs are so elegant to wear and wear on the different place with other designers way. She puts the jewellery on the nose and sometimes on eyebrow, Those ideas are so impressive to me.

And they all graduated from CSM , I hope I could be a better designer than them.

How have they influenced what you have currently/ recently been making?

I started to make true designs and make it finished , that I first realised that I can do a finished work and make everything more strategy, So in the future I could do work in a more clearly way and make the process more efficient to read.

What do you think you might want to explore in more depth on a degree?

I think I want to explore more about the meaningful Jewellery, also those designs need to be fine and elegant. And also I want learn how to work on the stones or a wider range of materials.
