Extenuating Circumstances
What are Extenuating Circumstances?
There may be difficult circumstances in your life that affect your ability to meet an assessment deadline or affect your performance in assessment. These are known as Extenuating Circumstances or ‘ECs’. Extenuating Circumstances are defined as unexpected, significantly disruptive and beyond your control. As a student, it is your responsibility to make known any special circumstances which have affected the production of your work. Where appropriate, these circumstances can be taken into account by the Exam Board when making its decision. For example, you may be given some further time in which to submit work, or your overall mark may be amended.
How to make a claim
You must make known any special circumstances affecting your assessment by completing an Extenuating Circumstances Claim Form. This can be emailed to ecclaims@camberwell.arts.ac.uk. Alternatively a form can be handed in here at the Student Contact Desk.
You will also need to submit supporting evidence, for example medical certificates, with your form.
If you need to make a claim for Extenuating Circumstances, please visit the below web page to download a claim form, and please also read all guidance notes for Extenuating Circumstances as soon as possible:
