Yesterday's focus was research on Hazaribagh, an industrial area in Bangladesh, and visualisation. This area is characterized by extremely serious water pollution caused by leather processing. I studied its impact on the quality of life of the whole country in combination with its geographical location and economic status. Because it is upstream from an important water source, the pollution leads to health problems for the surrounding population. One of the common diseases is cancer.

For the whole country, the Buriganga River is its aorta. It is the most important source of water, an indispensable trade route, and a source of faith for Hindus. And industrial zones along the river are like tumours, pumping toxins into the bloodstream and affecting the life of the nation. Thus, when I drew the map, I marked the rivers in red and the toxic emissions and the dirty factories in black.

My drawing is very simple to express my meaning, but sometimes too simple will make it seem not complete enough. Therefore, the next step I need to consider is how to further improve my drawing, and ensure it is not monotonous while ensuring the readability of the graphic. At the same time, materially limited the visual effect, thus I should bring more material to the studio. Adding some colour might also help.

Another question worth thinking about is how I can make a connection with my subjects. Bangladesh is so far from my life that its pollution situation doesn't seem to matter to me. But when I got home, I found that some of my clothes were made in Bangladesh. Perhaps some of them are the source of pollution.
