About DIAL

DIAL: Digital Integration into Arts Learning, a two year JISC funded Digital Literacies project at UAL.

DIAL focuses on the development of digital literacies in Arts Higher Education with the primary goal of improved graduate employability and cultural change, the project will support a number of self-identifying ‘communities’ in fulfilling their digital literacy development needs in a sustainable way.

Over the project life-time, processes, resources and toolkits will be developed so the communities can be increasingly autonomous in their development programmes. Within the community, individual and collective aims and anxieties will be identified, along with current skills and experience. Community members will collaborate to increase the overall digital literacy of the whole community. see more about the project here.

Throughout January 2012 DIAL will be supporting a baselining process across the institution, see more on baselining here. Baselining for DIAL at UAL is basically a snapshot of the current digital ‘landscape’ from as many perspectives as possible.

If you would like to contribute to DIAL project in any way please contact Chris Follows: c.follows@arts.ac.uk

Please see following link for a brief overview of the project – http://www.jisc.ac.uk/whatwedo/programmes/elearning/developingdigitalliteracies/dial.aspx

We are in the process of creating an online forum/website home for DIAL. We’re also keen to use ‘Existing UAL initiatives‘ to surface the project in different circles, all will eventually point back to the official DIAL website home, please see some early examples below:
