I love the realness of this installation piece, and how the craftsmanship is so well done that I couldn't even tell the branches were actually made from the materials listed above. The most interesting aspect of this piece to me is the highlight of the roots through the large scale, dark colour and small attention to detail, because it is more expected to see merely the trunk of the tree and up in works of art. I like that although the two sections are attached, and the roots give life to the tree, that the roots really have a life of their own in my opinion because of how much they jump out to me.
