Details

Laposky was one of the first to create "digital", what could be called a pre-cursor to the digital art of Noll and his contemporaries. Laposky created these 'Oscillons' from 1950s onwards by moving electronic currents over an oscilliscope and the recorded on film they were then coloured using a separate technique.  Note more ORGANIC forms as opposed to the more geometric art usually assocaited with early digital art, result of low-res, bitmap images etc

Cory Arcangel is a more contemporary digital artist, creating large gradient works. Although gradients like this are usually considered digital there is something natural and organic in the subtle shift from one to another as happens in the real world rather than a strict separation or harsh change which is often considered more processed.  Explore the duality of something being organic and digital.
