This site aims to help you explore the ethics of making creative work.

We focus on the example of a documentary film and invite you to apply the method of questioning to your creative thinking and art practice.

Watch the two-minute trailer below:

Justine rarely speaks.
She communicates through looking, gesture and the body language of her movement and interactions.
What can be understood across the language divide?
This documentary portrait of a young woman observes the close rhythms of her days
in the run-up to her milestone birthday, at a crucial moment for Britain’s strained welfare system.

Directed by Pratap Rughani Justine was commissioned by Kate Adams,

Director of the pioneering artist-led arts organisation Project Artworks.

Justine has been shown around the world and generated much discussion about the ethics of making.

Here we question the choices made as a way to examine challenges in the ethics of art practice.
