Description: Evolutionary developmental biology has revealed that the same structures have adapted for different purposes in different animals: a bat's wing evolved fromits ancestor's fingers and human ear bones evolved from the same structure as reptile jaws. Here the artist explores the notion that the human pelvis and skull may also have had the same evolutionary origins, "Palindrome" was inspired by a section in J G Ballard's The Atrocity Exhibition, in witch a character imagines that "the bones of the pelvis may constitute the remains of a lost sacral skull".
