"Brutalism Architecture" also known as "Nybrutalism" .People can recognize this kind of architecture by rough and harsh concrete structure. Brutalism architectures were widely used after the Second World War, it was because the cheap concrete material greatly reduce the cost of government. Compared with finest renaissance or gothic architecture, in my opinion, I think this kind of style also represent a period of decline time. Therefore , I also add this mood into my drawings that I did outside.
Barbican Center
There are lots of repeating shapes throughout the buildings in Barbican, for example, the square shapes windows, the holes which are punched on the wall, or the stones that are decorating the floor.
