||Working with chiropractic neurologist Dr Mark Pick at his dissection lab, the artist used her camera to document the inner world of the human body. York found as she examed the bodies and organs that she was fascinated by their intricate patterns and structures. Tomaintain the focus on the abstract beauty of the body and its parts, and to prevent the images from becoming too"visually assaulting", York chose to produce austere black and white images such as this one, depicting the human brain, spinalcord and the frayed nerve endings.
