When reading the latest issue of LOVE magazine, I came across this spread shot by Juergen Teller. At first, I didn't really understand the shoot overall, and I thought it felt uncomfortable and awkward. However, as I started to look a little deeper into the photos, I realised that's the whole point of the shoot. Juergen Teller's signature is this real and honest aspect, that he creates by using high flash and unedited photos in his work.
I think this is the first time that I've taken the time to re-look into a shoot that I didn't like at first. I then was able to notice what I did like about the shoot, such as the colours and the set. Even though the model and her positions made me feel a little uncomfortable, I began to understand why Teller chose this way of posing as I looked more into the spread.
Even though this isn't the type of shoot I'd like to carry out, this sense of further evaluation is something I should carry on with in the future.
