Since it was an independent study day, I decided to look further into tentacles after it being one of my words from yesterday's workshop. I was desperate to link it back to ancient myths so I looked through Ovid's Metamorphosis to find references to any sea monsters. I was fortunate to come across a story involving Scylla who was a nymph and was turned into a sea monster with lots of legs and teeth and would swallow any ships that came near it. This definitely helped sea where sea monsters came from. What I would like to do now is look at Nordic myths and research involving the kraken.

I also looked at jewellery involving tentacles too - but more research is definitely needed.

I did some initial design ideas, especially around the upper body trying to convey the suckers on the tentacles. I think I need to look more into the anatomy of tentacles and the characteristics.
