Edward Burtynsky’s photographs are haunting and beautiful records of the ravages of industrialization. He documents the environmental destruction of mining, huge piles of cast aside electronic goods, and towers of tires as far as the eye can see. He also search for subjects that are rich in detail and scale yet open in their meaning. Recycling yards, mine tailings, quarries and refineries are all places that are outside of our normal experience, on a daily basis.
